Mercury Marine Launches 15 hp Pro Kicker FourStroke Outboard
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (May 5, 2008) – Expanding on the success of the 9.9 hp Pro Kicker FourStroke outboard engine, Mercury Marine is launching its all-new 15 hp Pro Kicker FourStroke.
Mercury's Pro Kicker series of outboard engines continues to take the fishing world by storm. Not only do these engines offer a feature-packed design and smart amenities, but Mercury's clean, quiet, fuel-efficient FourStroke performance makes the Pro Kicker the obvious choice for auxiliary power.
The 15 Pro Kicker utilizes a 2.15 gear ratio and four-blade, high-thrust propeller to provide unparalleled maneuverability and low-speed handling that enables anglers to troll baits slower.
The 15 Pro Kicker is available in both tiller and remote control versions. They feature the fastest power tilt in its class – just three seconds to tilt up or down – and come equipped with patented kicker centering straps (optional on remote control models) that automatically straighten and secure the outboard when it's completely tilted up. The kicker straps, combined with the heavy-duty mid section and clamp brackets, make the Pro Kicker capable of handling even the roughest water. So when you're ready to head to the fishing hole, or head home, your trolling motor won't flop around like a fish out of water.
All Pro Kickers are outfitted with electric and manual start systems for safety, convenience and peace of mind. In addition, the dual water pickups ensure an ample supply of cooling water at all times for increased reliability. And the throttle-only feature delivers easy starting in the rare case that the engine floods.
If that weren't enough, the 15 Pro Kicker's multi-functional tiller handle allows the user to control shift, throttle, throttle friction, steering, trim and stopping with one hand. In addition, the tiller handle tilts up for additional comfort and folds down for compact storage or easy transport.
Both tiller and remote-control models come in long (20”) and extra-long (25”) shaft lengths for greater versatility. A new decal scheme on both tiller and remote models set the 15 Pro Kicker apart from the pack and is designed to complement the main outboard.
