MotorGuide’s new Great White VariMax is Tough on Salt and Easy on Batteries

TULSA, Okla. (July 18, 2008) -- Running out of power is really not an option in a world where it’s “eat or be eaten” – especially if you’re in the midst of chasing snook across a flat. Fear not: MotorGuide’s new Great White VariMax, featuring BlueSpeed Digital variable speed control, provides three times more battery power from a single charge than five-speed transom-mount motors in its class.

Power never stops flowing because BlueSpeed Digital variable speed control leads to less amp draw. Plus, BlueSpeed provides ongoing indications of available battery voltage when in the off position so you spend more time fishing and no time worrying about running out of power or getting stranded.

Avid saltwater anglers will be quick to recognize upgrades that are not only aesthetic but add functionality too, highlighted by the push/forward and pull/reverse BlueSpeed variable-speed control handle that extends for intuitive forward-reverse operation at any speed.

All new MotorGuide Great White Series motors come complete with the industry’s only stainless steel shaft. It’s a hardy 1.25-inches in diameter, and is long proven to survive in harsh saltwater environments. Plus, dual sacrificial anodes on the shaft provide ultimate galvanic corrosion protection.

MotorGuide has also redefined transom mounts with its Taper-Lock mount that eliminates slack via a tapered pin that ensures solid engagement year after year in all seven positions. A rapid slide-depth adjustment collar and “no pinch” tilt mechanism put the final touches on the VariMax’s functionality. Plus, the VariMax Digital transom mount motors can be quickly turned around for bow mount applications on small boats, making this incredible new motor a very versatile value that retails for under $200.

Pure and simple, the new variable speed Great White VariMax is a highly salt-worthy trolling motor that lends precision speed selection to meet your fishing conditions with far greater battery life that won’t leave you stranded.
