Mercury Racing Awarded for “Best in Class” Product Literature
FOND DU LAC, Wis., Oct. 31, 2008 – Mercury Racing has been recognized as Best in Class for its product literature by the Marine Marketers of America (MMA) association. The Mercury Racing brochures were designed by GS Design of Milwaukee, Wis.The MMA introduced its new “Neptune Awards,” this year for marketing communications efforts judged “Best in Class” by expert juries of marine industry marketing professionals. The mission of the new awards program is to recognize and promote excellence in marine marketing communications. Awards were given in five different categories, these were:
· Best Campaign Series,
· Best Print Advertising, Spread,
· Best Print Advertisement, Single Page Ad,
· Best Collateral, Single Piece, and
· Best Product Literature (Series).
Mercury Racing, The Fond du Lac, Wis.,-based manufacturer of high performance marine propulsion systems received a “Neptune Award” for its marketing communication efforts in producing best in class series of product literature. Mercury Racing President Fred Kiekhaefer accepted the award at the association’s inaugural awards luncheon at the BahiaMarBeachResort & YachtingCenter in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The event was a part of the 49th annual Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show opening day festivities.
The inaugural North American marketing competition drew an impressive 46 entries from 24 different companies representing a broad range of brands, boats, products and services.
Besides the award highlights, the luncheon also included brief reports from MMA committee chairs. Thom Dammrich of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, was also offered the keynote presentation titled, “The Waves of Change.”
“We were extremely pleased by both the quality and the number of entries in our inaugural year of the competition,” said Sally Helme, MMA awards committee co-chair and publisher of three Bonnier Marine Group boating and sailing magazines.
“The excellent news is that there is clearly outstanding marine marketing work underway in our industry and the winners have reason to be very proud of their recognition and distinctive achievement. We look forward to continually building upon a strong foundation established for this program and encourage all marketers to become involved in our association activities, and to submit entries next year,” Helme said.
